On a cold January night in Bonney Lake, the buzz around Panthers basketball was impossible to miss.
Coming in undefeated at 13–0 and newly ranked 10th in the WIAA 4A rankings, the Bonney Lake Panthers welcomed the Curtis Vikings to town for a Tuesday night matchup that drew another strong crowd eager to see what this Panthers squad would do next.
Bonney Lake didn’t disappoint.

The Panthers came out sharp in the opening quarter, setting the tone with suffocating defense and quick offensive execution. An early 8–0 run, sparked by a Keenan Perry three-pointer, ignited the crowd and forced Curtis to settle in early. Perry set the pace offensively all night, finishing as the game’s leading scorer with 16 points, while also contributing three assists and two rebounds. Despite a brief Vikings push midway through the quarter, Bonney Lake maintained control and closed the first eight minutes ahead 19–13.
The second quarter brought tighter defense and momentum swings. Curtis chipped away at the lead, cutting it to 24–22 before using back-to-back steals to briefly tie the game at 24. Bonney Lake responded by pushing the tempo once again, leaning on balanced scoring and interior presence. Eli Davis provided steady offense and activity on both ends, finishing with 14 points, nine rebounds, and a steal, while Cole Seminara controlled the paint. The Panthers regrouped and went into halftime holding a 30–25 advantage.
Coming out of the break, Bonney Lake flipped the switch.

The Panthers’ defense tightened significantly in the third quarter, limiting Curtis to tough, contested shots. Jace Andino took control of the game’s rhythm, dishing out five assists while adding 12 points and three rebounds. Seminara continued to assert himself inside, completing a strong all-around night with 14 points, 14 rebounds, and two assists, an enforcing double-double that anchored Bonney Lake on both ends of the floor. A late scoring surge from Perry helped push the Panthers ahead 49–38 entering the fourth.
The final quarter was all about control.

Bonney Lake extended the lead to 57–43 behind disciplined defense and smart shot selection. The Panthers slowed the game, managed possessions, and forced Curtis into fouling situations as the clock wound down. Contributions came from throughout the rotation, including Robert Mosley IV (two points, three rebounds, one assist), Quinton Sagiao (four points, two rebounds), and Jayden Barrett (two points, two rebounds, two assists), as Bonney Lake calmly closed out a 64–55 victory.
With the win, the Panthers improve to 14–0, continuing a remarkable run that has them firmly planted among the state’s elite. Behind balanced scoring, dominant rebounding, and relentless defense, Bonney Lake once again showed that its rise in the rankings is no accident.
There won’t be much time to celebrate, as the Panthers now turn their attention to a marquee road test. Up next is a Thursday night showdown at Emerald Ridge, who currently sit first in the SPSL North District with a 5–0 league record. With both teams rolling, the matchup shapes up as one of the most compelling games on the league schedule.
