The Panthers’ win after an incredible 1st half performance from dynamic duo Layla Davisson and Abby Arneson

The major soccer clash between the 2 teams, the Bonney Lake Panthers and the Emerald Ridge Jaguars, was hosted at Bonney Lake High School.  Bonney Lake came in with a formidable 2-1 record, while the Jaguars came into the game searching for their first win with a record of 0-3-1. The difference was clear from the start.

The Panthers came into the game with their gear switch all the way up.  In just the 3rd minute, Maddie Campbell almost put their first of the game on the scoreboard, the shot skimming the post near the top right corner. They continued with a relentless determination, and soon enough, that would pay off as an amazing through pass would lead to an assist from Arneson as Davisson would slot it in right down the middle for the first goal of the game.

She still wasn’t done, just 4 minutes later in the 13th minute, Arneson threaded the needle through the Jaguars’ defense, leading to Davisson’s second strike of the day.  For most, 2 goals would’ve been good enough for them, but not for Davisson. She still had that same focused look in her eyes, just like from the beginning. Soon the ball would find her feet again, as in the 22nd minute, Lauren Grinstead would steal the ball away, then pass it back to safety to Brynn Fitch, who would then lob it over to the right flank, where Slonane Ottele had controlled the ball and crossed it right over to Davisson. She tucked it right in the bottom left corner, sealing the game and her hat-trick.

Now at 3–1, the Panthers carry momentum into their next challenge at Sumner Stadium, where they’ll face their biggest rivals, the Sumner Spartans.
