Meet Taylin Beers. A dynamic junior outside hitter for the Bonney Lake Panthers, Beers brings a blend of power, precision, and heart every time she steps on the court. As a six-rotation player known for her versatility and energy, she’s become a cornerstone of the Panthers volleyball program, the kind of athlete who leads by example, inspiring her teammates through hard work, resilience, and an undeniable love for the game. A Love Sparked by Family.

Taylin’s journey with volleyball began early, long before her Panthers uniform. “I got into volleyball when I was in third grade,” she says. “I was watching my mom’s old video tapes from when she played in high school, and I wanted to try it.”

That spark quickly grew into a lifelong passion. From Parks and Rec ball to middle school teams, she found her rhythm, and in sixth grade, joined club volleyball, where her skills began to shine. “Playing club volleyball was one of the greatest choices I’ve made,” Beers says. “You get incredible opportunities, make lasting connections, and travel to big tournaments that are so exciting. It’s also a great way for college coaches to get a good look at you.”

Today, Taylin competes for Puget Sound Volleyball Academy, continuing to sharpen her game year-round.

Finding Her Position and Her Power

Beers has played nearly every position on the court, but her home is outside hitter, and she plays it with confidence. “I’ve mostly been an outside hitter my whole volleyball career,” she says. “I even trained to be a setter once but outside is where I feel most comfortable.”

That versatility, combined with her consistency as a six-rotation player, gives the Panthers an anchor they can rely on both offensively and defensively.

Defining Moments

When asked about her favorite memory as a Panther, Beers didn’t hesitate. “It was my freshman year, our last game of the season, the one that decided if we were going to districts,” she recalls. “We fought so hard and ended up winning in five sets. Everyone wanted it so bad and gave 100 percent effort. It was just such an amazing feeling.”

Moments like that, fueled by heart and teamwork, have shaped her approach to the game ever since.

Future Goals and Inspiration

With college on the horizon, Beers has both athletic and academic ambitions. “I would love to go to college and play at the collegiate level,” she says. “I want to go to a four-year university and get my degree in mechanical engineering.”

She doesn’t have one “dream school,” but she knows what she wants: “I don’t want to go too far from home. I’d like to play at a lower D1 or higher D2 school, somewhere I can balance volleyball and school.”

As for who inspires her, Beers points to Harper Murray, the standout outside hitter at Nebraska. “She’s amazing to watch. Before games, I’ll watch film on her and try to take what she does into my own matches.”

Beyond Volleyball

Off the court, Taylin has a surprising hobby that fans might not expect, she rides dirt bikes for fun around her grandparents’ property. “It’s something I just do for fun,” she says with a grin. “It’s a nice way to relax outside of volleyball.”
