When Bonney Lake baseball fans reflect on this season, they might first remember the battle scars from a tough April stretch that saw the Panthers post a 2-9 record. But those paying closer attention will remember something else entirely—the month Karsten Ingersoll took over the batter’s box.
A staple in the Bonney Lake sports scene since his freshman year, Ingersoll has not only played the game—he’s been one of its loudest cheerleaders. Whether suiting up for the Panthers or packing the stands to support fellow athletes, Karsten is all-in on Panther pride. And in April, his loyalty and leadership translated into serious production on the field.

The senior first baseman was red-hot at the plate, collecting a team-leading 15 hits over 40 at-bats—second only in batting average at a scorching .375. He added 6 RBIs, 4 doubles, and delivered timely hits that helped keep the Panthers competitive in games that often came down to a swing or two.
But his defining moment? That came on Senior Night. With the crowd buzzing and emotions running high, Ingersoll stepped to the plate in the bottom half of the inning. Down in the count 0-1, he unleashed a moonshot to dead centerfield—his first home run of the season, and one of just three hit by Panthers this year. It may have come in a loss, but Karsten’s blast was a clear win for everyone who’s followed his journey.

And his April tear wasn’t a fluke. Back in March, he led the team in hits and runs while hitting .389, proving he’s no flash in the pan—he’s been cooking since the season’s first pitch.
For his standout performance and unwavering leadership, Karsten Ingersoll is the Bonney Lake Insider’s April Athlete of the Month, proudly sponsored by Bonney Lake Applebee’s. He’ll receive a $25 gift card as a small token of appreciation for a month that was anything but small.
Congrats, Karsten. Keep swinging – because performances like yours deserve to be remembered.
