Meet Addy Krehbiel. A confident, composed junior quarterback, Addy stepped into Bonney Lake history this week as one of the leaders of the school’s first-ever girls flag football team. With poise, positivity, and a natural sense of control, she took command of the offense in a debut that wasn’t just meaningful, it was defining. Addy didn’t just guide the Panthers into this new era of SPSL girls flag football. She set the tone for what this program can become.

Stepping Into the Spotlight
Taking the field as the starting quarterback in the Panthers’ inaugural game would be overwhelming for most players. But for Addy, the responsibility brought clarity rather than nerves.
“When I stepped onto the field as a quarterback, what crosses my mind is the positivity I give myself and making sure I make the right decisions and throws,” she said.
That self-talk and internal confidence became her anchor, steadying her in a moment that was historic not just for her, but for every girl wearing Bonney Lake across her chest.

Two Touchdowns and a Statement Made
In her debut, Addy threw two touchdowns, sparking the offense and igniting the sideline.
“When I threw those two touchdowns that night I was so happy and excited,” she said. “I was excited because it was our first ever game for this new program of this season.”
Those plays weren’t just points on the board, they were proof of potential. Addy showed that Bonney Lake has a quarterback capable of reading the field, making big throws, and embracing the moment.
A Leader Focused on Family, Positivity, and Growth
Quarterbacks are natural leaders, but Addy sees the position as something deeper than calling plays or making reads.
“I want to lead this team with positivity and sportsmanship,” she said. “So we are a family off and on this field…it’s important for the girls in our school to have something important as flag football.”
Her message is clear: this isn’t just a team, it’s the start of a community. Addy is intentional about building trust, morale, and connection, knowing that every great program begins with a foundation of belief.

A Softball Journey That Shaped Her Game
Long before she ever took snaps, Addy was making her mark on the softball field. She started playing at age seven, falling in love with the sport that would shape her competitive mindset.
“How my softball journey started was when I was 7 years old,” she said. “And the part that shapes me as a player today is the mentality I have for myself.”
That mental toughness, staying calm, staying present, and believing in her training, translates seamlessly from the diamond to the gridiron.
Where Softball Meets Football
Addy sees similarities in how she approaches both sports, especially the focus needed to perform at her best.
“When I step onto the field, I have to stay focused into the game and not worry about the scoreboard or anything,” she said. “But still have fun when I am on the field.”
For her, it’s about playing loose, staying positive, and trusting instinct, qualities that make her dangerous in both sports.

Eyes on the Future
As a junior, Addy is already thinking about what comes next.
“I am thinking about the next level for both, but mainly softball,” she said. “I am trying to figure out what type of college I want to go to.”
Her athleticism gives her options. Her mentality gives her a ceiling few reach.
Beyond the Field
Behind the quarterback and the softball player is a teenager who loves the outdoors, her friends, and her family.
“I like to hang out with friends and get more work in for softball and for flag football,” she said. “And I like hanging out with my family, going camping, and going to the beach.”
Addy Krehbiel is competitive, grounded, joyful, and ready to help define what Bonney Lake girls flag football will become.
And if her debut is any indication, the Panthers are in very good hands.
