The Bonney Lake High School Panthers Boys Tennis team is poised for a fresh start in the upcoming 2023-2024 season. With the departure of eight seasoned seniors from last year's squad, leaving behind only two varsity players, the Panthers face the reality of a potential rebuilding year. However, Coach Damon DeLapp and his team are not backing down from the challenge; in fact, they are embracing it with high hopes and unwavering determination.
In a league where many teams find themselves in a similar rebuilding phase, the Panthers are not alone in their quest for renewal. Most opponents are navigating the same territory, but one exception stands tall: Mt. Tahoma, armed with a large returning group. Beyond the customary 12 league games, Bonney Lake has strategically scheduled non-conference matchups against Emerald Ridge, White River, Thomas Jefferson, Puyallup, and Enumclaw, adding an exciting layer of unpredictability to their season. With a collective spirit of resilience and a hunger for success, the Panthers are eagerly anticipating a hard-fought year and have their sights set on a deep postseason run. The first chapter in their journey begins this Thursday at Lakes High School at 3:30 pm, and fans can expect nothing less than a thrilling display of determination and passion on the court.
